Hey Coloring Community! 🌟

I’m excited to share a special giveaway featuring four beautiful coloring pages inspired by Dido Elizabeth Belle, a trailblazing figure in Black history. 🎨✨

Who is Dido Elizabeth Belle?

Dido Elizabeth Belle was born in 1761, the daughter of an African woman, Maria Belle, and a British naval officer, Sir John Lindsay. Raised by her great-uncle, the 1st Earl of Mansfield, in England, she lived a life that defied the rigid social norms of the 18th century. Dido was not only educated and well-treated but also played a significant role in the household, managing Kenwood House’s dairy and poultry yards and assisting her uncle with his correspondences.

Why is she important?

Dido’s life offers a unique glimpse into the complexities of race, class, and gender during her time. Her presence in the Earl’s household is believed to have influenced his progressive rulings, including the landmark Somerset case, which contributed to the abolitionist movement in Britain. Her legacy is a testament to resilience and the breaking of societal barriers.

To celebrate Dido Elizabeth Belle and her incredible story, I’m giving away these four coloring pages inspired by her. They’re perfect for anyone who loves history, art, and celebrating powerful women who made a difference. 🌸👑
